Caesar's Creek Ride

Well I just got back from a great ride out at Caesars Creek State park. We took the most difficult trail at the park and we were not dissapointed. There is a section of the trail known as the super bowl and that it is. Its like a giant half pipe. It was a little intimidating atfirst because of the rock halfway up the ascent but not enough to stop us from attemping it. What a rush man. The speed is incredible and the adrenaline rush is awesome. Further on down the trail we had an unfortunate accident. One of our riders did an edo and flipped forward down a steep hill. He will be alright.

Lake Hope Trails are the best riding in South East Ohio. The climbs are a bit tough but riders are well rewarded with some awesome downhill sections. Some of these down hill sections roll like a roller coaster so it it easy to keep momentum and speed. If you end up stuck in ohio for a few days with your bike, hitch a ride to Lake Hope which is just south of Chillicothe Ohio.

This trail is for the advanced rider. The hill climbs are long and very difficult. I ended up walking my bike for a good portion of the trail because I did not have the skill or endurance to finish the climbs. This is a very technical trail. It is also poorly marked. Needs some better trail maintenance. Fun ride but grab a map or grab someone who knows the trails. If you make it up the hills you will be greatly rewarded with awesome down hills

Hello From Ohio

<em>Zachary1873</em>'s picture

Hello everyone,

I am from the Dayton-Cincinnati of Ohio. Riding is pretty fun out here but the number of trails is simply lacking. I joined this site to meet more riders and eventually make some new friends to ride with. I am still a novice at MTBing. I am riding a Trek 6000 hardtail. I like it alot. Well just wanted to introduce myself. Feel free to add me to your buddy list. I am looking forward to meeting some cool new friends.

Caesar Creek State Park has an awesome trail selection. It is geared more for an intermediate to advanced rider. The terrain is pretty brutal with high steep climbs and fast descents. Great place to ride.

A nice beginner level trail, courtesy of CAMBA (Cleveland Area Mountain Bike Association). Stay off this trail if it has recently rained. Also, please refrain from forging your own trails. This is part of the park system, and the trails that are tagged with PVC markers are the legal parts, anything else should not be there. Again, this is a beginner friendly singletrack trail.

Ohio mountain biking: What the...?

By walker on 9/6/2006 on walker's blog

Do you roam the Internet looking for new places to roll your wheels? Do you aimlessly type in the most random search words into Google? If you answered yes to these questions, I have a site for you to review.

The Ohio Mountain Bike Association website is the result of one my random searches. (I bet you wouldn't have guessed that website.) I was glad that I stumbled on it. Because, to me, these sites like joinomba.org offer more than just tips and tricks, they highlight the community efforts of an organization.

Check out the trails condition page here. The people behind the site give you the details on how trails are holding up after a rain storm. The members blog page also had some cool stories and information. In fact, I learned about a new bike fit system. Check it out here. I scooted on toward the forum page. There were some interesting threads going on about racing, riding and an interesting threatened trail area.
