Ow....Owww....OW....Wasp!!!!

By subunit1 on 7/13/2006 on subunit1's blog

Twas a hot day on the trail and Abe, Dave and myself were having one of our regular saturday morning rides on the Doumont Trail system in Nanaimo, BC. We were on a trail called 'Styx' which is a winding, rooty trail with lots of upturned trees and rotting logs. At one point we had stopped for a breather and some H2O. Dave was having a drink when he though he had a stick stuck in his shirt as he was being 'poked'. But it kept sticking into him - time and time again. He had actually stopped about 5 feet from a wasps nest in the side of a rotten fallen log. Then it really started to sting and that is when he realized it was something biting him.

The Story

Video was shot on a trail called Trouble on the Doumont Trail system in Nanaimo, BC - Canada. I was not going to attempt to jump the log at the bottom, just stop near it and walk over it with my bike. I failed to unclip from my pedals properly when I was stopping before the log and proceeded to fall over the log. Watch for flailing arms and legs. Video was shot with a helmet camera.
