The trails here range from beginner to intermediate. There is a mix of wide open trails in farmers fields to single track, steep rocky...etc Also there are some really nice views of the lake. There are a bunch of loops that could make this trail pretty much as long or a short as you want it to be. I believe if you were to stay on the outside largest loop it is 6 miles. It's right off rt 100 and then follow little Conestoga Rd to Chalfont Rd until a dead end in the parking lot. Maps available in the parking lot. * Please note - not all trails are shown on this map*

This post is for anyone seriously into observed trials. This is one of my favorite practice spots of all time! Nothing but acres and acres of HUGE boulders. Rocks as far as the eye can see with a nice winding stream that runs down the middle of everything. I would say that this spot would be for any level of trials rider. Beginner to pro. I drew a circle around the area where I ride the most. Believe me there are endless lines everywhere and that is only the tip of the iceberg at this place! BTW.. there are XC trails that are located all over this area as well. This spot is a few miles from French Creek State Park which has miles and miles of single track.

Description
Spring Valley is the park farthest south in the York area, nestled in the rugged hills of the Lower Susquehanna Valley. The park boasts an array of amenities, including lots of open space, picnicking pavilions, a children’s Fish for Fun pond, trout fishing, and a program in July where you can learn to pan for gold (Yes, real gold.) The East Branch of Codorus Creek that flows through the park is also heavily stocked with trout in the spring and is a hot spot during trout season. Highlights: short and exciting ride, Fish for Fun pond, trout stream, camping nearby at the Otter Creek and Pequea Campgrounds, picnicking, gold panning?! Tread: the ride runs mainly on singletrack trails that vary from smooth, hardpacked dirt to ridge-top rocky outcroppings. There are a few grassy old woods roads and gravel park roads that connect the trail network. Ridgeway is in bad shape and only half-paved.

Description
Rocky Ridge is a great place to get out and tear around on some technical trail, especially if you’re in the York area. The park’s name reflects the abundance of moderate technical riding. The trails here are well marked. The ride begins on the ridge at one of the highest points in the park and leads out to a beautiful vista looking north over the Susquehanna Valley. A gnarly, rocky, technical descent follows as the trail loses some elevation off the north face and runs the rocky valley below. A killer hill climb with burly rocks and soft soil brings you back to the top of the ridge. Take advantage of the second vista, this time looking south, out over the York Valley. Head back into the woods to a stream crossing and begin a rugged lower loop on the southwest face of the ridge. Two more stream crossings and a fun, moderate climb bring you back to the park entrance road and the trailhead.. Highlights: multiple stream crossings, two incredible vistas, park amenities including restrooms, water, picnic pavilions, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, and a fitness trail, camping nearby at Otter Creek and Pequea Campgrounds. Tread: the ride covers an array of trails, including rutted, rocky old woods roads, singletrack, doubletrack, and cinder-paved path.

Roughly 21.55 miles long. It uses part of the Switchback trail, before heading up via paved road to the top of flaggstaff mountain. goes from open trail, to singletrack, to fireline, to powerline descent, back to paved road, and then finally picks up the switchback again for a run back into Jim Thorpe. Lots of rocks in places, great scenery, and a hardtail can make it. the above map is just a rough estimate of the trail. A good map is available at the bike shops in Jim Thorpe. I rode this trail with my cycling computer and measured exact distance.
