What's the difference?

<em>Kallycat</em>'s picture
By Kallycat on 3/20/2008
The first time my derailler broke while riding down the road. One second I was riding smoothly, the next second I was almost thrown off my bike when everything quit functioning.

Hi I'm Kelly (Kallycat) from west central Illinois and I was wondering what's the difference between a $15.00 bike helmet at Walmart, a $39.00 helmet from my local bike shop, and a $100.00 dollar helmet on Specialized.com?  I'm looking to buy a new helmet for mountain biking and I really like the styles at Specialized, but am I just paying for the name or is there a real quality difference?

I was also wondering how does someone who has never raced before get into racing?  And how can I find out where and when races are?

At Arrow racing we have fun at a higher level! Good times during training sessions and some racing shots. A good shot of the "boneshaker" at Hardwood Hills.

Smear the Weir? Ya right!

By M-Dub on 8/7/2007 on M-Dub's blog
Groups: Downieville MTB (CA)

Downieville, wow!

Well FOX SHOX put on a contest called “Smear the Weir”. And I was the lucky winner. The premise of the contest was to write in a 100 words how you planned to beat the man (like that is possible) and my demented mind finally paid off. I was at home when the phone rang and the caller ID said FOX, I tried to play it cool but I was stoked! It’s an event I have wanted to do for years but just seamed to miss, or in this year’s case, it sold out in minutes.
