By Steve Outing on 5/5/2007 on Steve Outing's blog I had my heart set on riding today (Saturday), so I convinced a couple friends to give it a go this morning anyway and try Boulder's Walker Ranch Loop. Worst case, we get a little wet, or encounter some slippery trails. (It snowed in the higher elevations last night.) Forecast was more dire than reality, fortunately, and we had crisp but otherwise great weather. The sun even peeked out a short way into the ride. Walker seems to have suffered some erosion in parts over the winter, but it's still a great moderate-to-strenuous trail. (7.6 miles and 1700 ft of elevation gain; on this trail you're either going up or down -- nearly never flat.) |
