This weekend is the Oral Roberts University mountain bike class trip. I graduated last May but I've been going on the rides with them anyway. Nothing like camping in the Ouachita Mountains for the weekend! Skipping work on a Friday is awesome! I usually take pictures, but I think I'm going to try and take some video instead. I'll let you know how it goes! Oh, and I got some new gear from a big sale at my LBS. New saddle, co2 cartridges instead of pump, new shorts... that kind of stuff. |

It's the weekend!

Some of you may know but for those that don't, I just graduate from college, got married, and got a real full time job. So I'm quickly realizing that weekends are a gift sent from God himself! Anyway, I kicked off a weekend of great mountain biking by riding at Turkey Mountain last night. Bad idea. Too wet. I hate messing up the trails like that so luckily my buddies didn't ride much. |

By walker on 6/16/2006 on walker's blog We are probably more alike than you might think. I have brown hair; according to Wikipedia, it is probable that you do as well. However, our real connection comes from the fact that both of us are in the Friday zone. We are stuck, beginning in the morning, trying to figure out our ride for the weekend. This isn't an easy decision. Should we go out of town? Do we want to find a new trail, or simply ride the normal loop x 2? And, are my brake cables working? These questions and many others break our daily concentration and minimize work progress. What to do? |
What are you doing this weekend?

By walker on 5/19/2006 on walker's blog Do you like to race your mountain bike? Do you push your lactic threshold on steep death climbs like the one I'll be riding in Angel Fire, NM? Mabye you save your legs for the endurance work. If so, you might be the 24-hour racer type. Or, maybe you hammer it hard on the weekends. It might be that you are faster than most racers; its just that you like to race your friends. Well, I race and this weekend I'm joining about a thousand other cross country racers, downhillers, mountain crossers, super d'ers and others in the first Mountain States Cup race. |
