Description
Banner Woods is an awesome trail. It's not very technical, but the combination of miles and miles of options, coupled with single track that runs like a tunnel due to some serious overgrowth makes for a great experience. Twisty turns and tight corners round out this great weekend warrior paradise. For those less experienced riders, no fear, all trails are linked to a main dirt trail that leads right back to the parking area. You can ride until you bonk with no fear.

Watch the bears!      [ top of page ]

Posted by: Steve Phillips on 9/3/2007
http://www.komotv.com/news/local/9538012.html Man and dogs attacked by black bear at Banner. (Sep. 2, 2007) I've only seen deer here, but apparently bears are here as well. This place is a great ride and I plan on continuing to go.

A good ride + great location (for me atleast)      [ top of page ]

I just rode Banner for the third time yesterday. It's pretty good. No big climbs or huge downhills, just a lot of twisting technical trails through the woods. The main fire road is a good locator to prevent getting lost. Every now and then you get horses and the occasional family out for a walk. There are a few trails for walking only. Don't worry, you have plenty other ones to ride on. Looking forward to going back soon.

As of 5 July 2007, Banner woods is in pristine condition. Watch out for the horse droppings though, as the equestrians are out and about.

Trail Update for 1 July 2007 (Canada Day)      [ top of page ]

Posted by: BigAgnes on 7/2/2007
As of 1 July, 2007, all of the trails at Banner Woods were in pristine condition. There has been no water damage all season, and that shows that the locals who have been riding this gen, have really given a crap about potential erosion. The trails are perfect...not too overgrown, but not too eaten away...awesome.
