Favorite Thing about Mountain Biking
Losing track of time, feeling fully alive... being outdoors in the
fresh air and sunshine (such a novelty for my nerdy, studious self!),
exploring roadless places, appreciating where pedal power can take me
and facing new challenges on the trail (like cows in the middle of it).
Where I've Been
Around southern Arizona, of course. But my bike and I have had
adventures in Utah (Moab, baby!), Colorado, southern Oregon and
Wisconsin too. Northern Wisconsin has some beautifully groomed
singletrack, which is great during the summer because blueberries grow
along the trails! ^_^
My Bikes
I can only boast one bike, and a mediocre one at that. But my baby is a
2005 Gary Fisher Tassajara, and we've definitely had some great times
together despite her medium-grade components. Her name is Vicious
Cycle. hehe.
Good times on the trail!

Favorite Trail
Can't name a certain trail in particular (I'm ever searching for my
holy grail trail), but I like trails with a nice mix of scenery, rocks,
streams, twists, turns, ups and downs. Riding through fog is also a
plus. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
MTB Tip
Know your limits, but push them every now and then.
Oh yes, and show off your mud spatters, scars and bruises whenever possible. :)
Favorite Memory
I was biking in the Chiricahua Mtns. in SE Arizona when I came across a
whole family of coatis! And that pretty much made my day, because they
are usually very elusive creatures and I had the viewing all to myself!
CUTE!!!

Special Skills
Not to brag, but I think I'm pretty talented in all of the following:
1) cursing at the trail one moment, then praising it profusely 'round the next turn
2) finding the path of greatest resistance (i.e. cactus patch)
3) getting flats
4) crashing gracefully
5) identifying plants whilst riding past them
6) abruptly braking for plants if they have berries on them
heck yes!!! free trailside treats!

THE END :o)
