MTB Tip

Some evolved thoughts on this:

  • When you first get your bike, RTFM! Then do it again so that you know as much as possible about it.

  • Get a good gel seat. Your ass will appreciate it, as will the rest of your body.

  • Water: carry twice as much as you think that you'll need. Bottle cages are cheap, and free sports bottle abound.

  • Maintain your bike, and carry spares in case of a problem. You can't put a dollar value on the pain and agony of a breakdown in a remote location.

  • Cell phones are invaluable in this day and age. And don't forget a spare charged battery!
Favorite Memory
That's a very special, private memory, and someday I'll write about it... but not now.

Best MTB Joke

A man came back from a long business trip to find that his son had a new $600 mountain bike.

He said, "That's one fine looking bike, son. How'd you get that?"

His son replied, "By hiking."

The man said, "Hiking?"

His son responded, "That's right. Every night, Mom's boss came over and gave me $20 to take a hike."
