About Me

Laird's guestbook

I'm so grateful for mountain biking. Howdy, I've been mountain biking since 1982. In 1983, I started producing mountain bike races in Davis, WV. I've been running races ever since. Yup, and I'm the guy that created 24-hour racing in 1992 with the inaugural 24 Hours of Canaan. 26 years as a mountain bike race promoter...what a long, strange, trip it's been! Why do I keep doing it? Well, it's not for the money. Contrary to what most racers think, race promoting is not very lucrative. I do it because I love this sport. I do it because I love mountain bikers, the gritty, hard-core, non-whining, fun-loving folks who have the gumption to throw their leg over their top-tubes and pedal down a trail and up a mountain! Keep it up!!!

Laird,

That is awesome. Thank you very much for bringing those races to my attention. I was under the assumption that the only races available were the ones listed on the 24 Hour website. I will definitely try and scrounge up a team in time.
Again, thank you very much!

Amber
