Favorite Thing about Mountain Biking
I love the freedom, fresh air, scenery, and the thrill of the ride, the wide open spaces. The flipside is I hate getting punctures. I've had two in a row which really defeats me. My solution is to ride on basaltic or clayey soil trails to reduce the likelihood of such misfortune.
Favorite MTB Destination
Saitama Japan
Where I've Been

Well I have 3 MTBs because its cheaper to buy news ones rather than transport them. In Japan I even picked up a free one at a local recycling centre. I recommend doing this in Japan becase its beneath the Japanese to buy/use recycled goods. This bike was the best on the heap - in really good condition. You would laugh if you saw what I was riding down trails on before I got this freebie. It was my Japanese ex-GFs 16yo niece's. Some Japanese cycling passed me all decked out in their MTB gear, fully accessorised....laughed me off until I passed them 10mins later (after lunch). :)

So I've ridden around Sydney urban and trails in the countryside, around Port Macquarie, NSW. The forests around Lake Cathie were pretty good.

Ridden in Saitama (Ranzen & Hanno), Japan and Batangas in the Philippines.

My Bikes

Nothing of merit - maybe my GF niece's bike was a Panasonic. :)

Favorite Trail

I loved the trial I discovered in the mountains around Ranzen, Saitama, Japan. The valley was such an idyllic place. I encouraged her to buy a foreclosed house here for $US45,000. I offered to fix it up for her, so whilst doing the painting, and cleaning, I would take time off to go riding. After checking out all possible scenarios, I finally found the best possible track, and its really good.

There are long continuous sections, good trial conditions, some good breaks to recoup, even historical sites. Very scenic and a variety of terrains, both off & on-road, but never boring. Well I guess it was after running it 50 times.

MTB Tip
Check the components of your bike when you buy it, or get it especially made. I've had some pretty shoddy wokmanship in the Philippines. Ask another person to recommend where to buy your bike.
Favorite Memory
Showing up the Saitama MTB Club with my Japanese ex'GFs niece's bike. Mind you the brakes didnt work so I was bound to take them over.
Special Skills
I have a special knack for getting flat tyres.
Best MTB Joke
naaaa.....joking is the lowest form of humour.
