i have been a long time trail runner and grew up around a dad that loved road biking. I got my first road bike and thought it was beautiful, brand new, but something was missing. I got on a very expensive Epic that was a demo at the shop i worked at and was in love....I had no idea how to ride and was a huge bruise for that whole summer! By the end of that fall I was able to keep up and willing to try almost anything, including the hand me down hardtail singlspeed 29er! I have a new Soma now that rides beautifully thanks to my boyfriend who has held my hand through my learning curve. We now ride together all the time and I support him in his 24hr races. I have recently made a career change so I can get back to riding more miles and can't wait to race in my own endurance races!
