Favorite Thing about Mountain Biking
You know, when you hear that one song that, for you, has more meaning than any of the others, (for reason's only you understand), and you get that tingle up your spine and into your hair? That's how I feel evey time I approach the trail head on my way to a ride. It's a feeling that can reverse any negative mood, make any physical pain I'm feeling at the time disappear and make me feel like I will live forever. This feeling increases in intensity if I haven't been able to ride for a while, like that first ride in the spring after a long cold Idaho winter or that first ride after recovering from my Vasectomy! And that feeling is there for every ride in Moab during our annual boys week in October through that silent last single track ride in the late fall over 3 or 4 inches of fresh snow. At 45 yrs old the feeling is as strong as ever and I suspect it will continue until the last ride of my life, somewhere around 90 or 95.
